Entertainment Spotlight: Key West Real Estate Featured on New Show

On Tuesday, September 21 Fox Business Network will debut a brand new home-buying show called “American Dream Home.” Featured on the premier episode of “American Dream Home” is a couple searching for the perfect waterfront home for sale in Key West. The episode was shot from June 29 - July 1 of this year and documents the couple looking at properties in Key West, as well as Sugarloaf Key homes and Marathon Fl homes for sale.

Ty and Shelly Rogers, the homebuyers featured on the episode, represent the current real estate trend of buyers coming to the Keys looking to leave states that are struggling currently amid the pandemic. The Rogers hail from Los Angeles, and like many before them, they are looking to get away from California. They landed on Key West after selling their home and all of their belongings in California and heading out for an RV trip across the country that ended up in Key West. After falling in love with the town, they decided to make the move permanent.

This is a trend that real estate agents in the Florida Keys are seeing more and more. With the pandemic really shaping and transforming the way that people are living, many are looking to make a change. Living where people vacation is really driving many real estate markets, and is fueling the market in the Keys to reach new heights than ever before. Future episodes of “American Dream Home” will feature other popular vacation destinations as well including Vail Colorado, South Lake Tahoe, Blue Ridge Georgia, and Hawaii amongst others. The show will continue to highlight the real estate trend of buyers leaving cities and even suburbs in search of a more vacation lifestyle.
